The Sweeps Festival is one of the biggest May Day festivals in England and a “must” experience for anyone who enjoys Folk Music and Dance.

This year we will not dancing at dawn on Bluebell Hill, though some of our men will be dancing with Motley Morris.  

Sweeps as usual will be one of the the first outings of the year for our Maypole. We’ve been told in the past that it's as much fun to watch as it is to do…. especially when we go wrong !!    

In an attempt to re-hydrate ourselves after all that dancing, we usually retreat to a nearby pub to down a pint or two and sing a song or 3 at the end of the day.
